Spotify for iPhone
July 27, 2009 – 12:24 | Comments

spotifylogoIn the world of the Internet, it’s not often that us European’s get first dibs at a new piece of technology or software. It usually the American’s, Japanese and Korean’s who are out there in front. Not so with music streaming service Spotify. Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last year or so, you’ll know that Spotify is a great music streaming service that allows you to build and share your own play lists and almost instantly streaming high quality music over the internet to your PC and/or Mac. However, the hordes of iPhone users have been rather ignored until recently. Spotify have been working on what appears to be an amazing Sporify iPhone application which will be available in the iPhone AppStore store very soon.

Here’s a great video demo of what’s soon to come. Check it out and leave your comments here.

Virgin Media installation experience

I’ve been on an 8Mbps (downstream), 512Kbps (upstream) ADSL broadband connection now for over five years. It has served me well with little or no hickups. However, recent changes to the way I work has required me to look for a faster broadband connection, especially one with a broader upstream speed of at least 1Mbps.

A new Twitter client for your Mac called Nambu

Nambu is the name of new Twitter client recently released in beta form to the public that’s specifically for the Mac user community. It only runs on Mac OS-X and doesn’t yet have a Windows version. It’s also the first Mac based Twitter client I’ve used that’s not Adobe AIR or web based. It’s a native Mac OS-X application and as such looks very familiar and bears a striking resemblance to the Mac finder window. Nambu Touch for the iPhone also exists, although it too is in beta.

Why do you use Twitter?

The question of this article is, “Why do you use Twitter?”. It’s interesting to hear the answers from various quarters. Some people laugh at the mere notion of Twitter, some simply don’t get it, others use it prolifically and can’t stay off it whilst yet more have started to use Twitter as a tool for business.

Spring Moonwatch week #1

We’re currently in the midst of an annual UK astronomy event known as the spring moonwatch. It was originally conceived by the Society for Popular Astronomy in the UK and the event usually falls between 28th March to 5th April annually, because the moon will be best placed for observation from the UK. What is more, because the moon stays high above the horizon for a long time, it results in what astronomer called better “seeing” which essentially is a nice steady atmospheric condition usually resulting in a steady and sharp image of the moon when observing it through a telescope.
